Dr. Nick Freidberg is a urologist with Urology Austin, treating patients in Central and South Austin. He earned his medical degree from UT Health San Antonio and completed his residency in urological surgery at George Washington University, followed by a robotic surgery and endourology fellowship at the University of Kentucky. He is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care to help patients achieve the best outcomes.

After completing his robotic surgery/endourology fellowship at The University of Kentucky in Lexington, Dr. Freidberg returned to Austin in October 2022. He works with each patient at Urology Austin to provide an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. The goal is to help men and women move past urology issues to feel their best.
A look at Dr. Freidberg’s education and training
Nick Freidberg MD completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Texas at Austin. This Austin urologist then earned his medical degree from UT Health – San Antonio. He went on to complete his general surgery internship and residency in urological surgery at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Freidberg then completed his urologic surgery training in Lexington, Kentucky by completing a combined robotic surgery and endourology fellowship.

As a highly trained Austin urologist and surgeon, Dr. Freidberg has clinical and research interests in several areas of urology, including general urology and the following:
- Genitourinary cancers, including bladder, prostate, adrenal, kidney, ureter and testicular
- Kidney stone disease, including complex stone management
- Minimally invasive (robotic/laparoscopic) surgery
- Open surgery and scrotal surgery
- Advanced BPH treatments, including TURP, Greenlight PVP, UroLift, Aquablation and robotic simple prostatectomy
He views each patient as a unique individual. As a result, he creates personalized treatment plans to address each patient’s needs and goals.
