Dr. Adam Stewart grew up in Ooltewah, Tennessee, just outside of Chattanooga. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee, with his B.S. in chemistry and a B.A. in biology. He completed medical school at The University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis. He did his internship and residencies in surgery and urology at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.

Dr. Stewart’s journey to a career in medicine stemmed from a natural love of science and math combined with his faith and a love for taking care of people. Once he finished medical school, he decided to specialize in urology because it was such a broad area of medicine – one that allowed him to treat both women and men, treat a wide variety of conditions – both benign and cancer, see patients in the clinic and perform surgery, and perform both small procedures and big surgeries.

As a urologist no two days are alike, but every day offers an opportunity to form lasting relationships with his patients and Dr. Stewart enjoys that side of medicine.  Dr. Stewart is known for talking to his patients like they are a friend. When patients have a chronic disease or cancer, they need that kind of relationship with their doctor. In caring for his patients, he likes to take a team approach to solving urologic problems and focus on quality of life at the same time prioritizing safety and cancer control.

Dr. Adam Stewart specializes in minimally invasive urological surgery, specifically, single site robotic prostate and kidney surgery. He is known regionally and nationally for his expertise in single port robotic surgery, the newest type of robotic surgery, which eliminates the need for multiple incisions and now can be done with just one small incision.

This niche specialization in single site robotic surgery has people seeking him out and driving hundreds of miles from around the region for evaluation and surgical treatment for a variety of urological conditions:

Dr. Stewart stays at the forefront of urological research and advancements has numerous publications and presentations to his credit. He also has taken on leadership roles within the Conrad Pearson Clinic, as well as the local hospitals.

Dr. Stewart is married and has four children. They like to spend a lot of time outdoors and in the country together.  In his free time, he coaches his kid’s sports teams, likes to stay physically active and enjoys running and biking and he also is very active in his church.
