June 2022 Urology Austin is pleased to announce that Dr. Brett Baker has achieved the UroLift Center of Excellence (COE) designation! UroLift is a minimally invasive treatment option for men with benign prostastic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate). To receive this designation, Dr. Baker was required to perform a specified number of UroLift procedures each month, be clinically proctored on the safe and effective use of UroLift to provide clinical excellence, and participate in a minimum of two NeoTract Center of Excellence continuing education events per year.

He has also demonstrated UroLift Clinical Excellence by collecting and reviewing patient outcome data, exhibited clinical excellence skill levels, and helped patients achieve positive outcomes. Dr. Brett Baker is a board certified urologist with Urology Austin
Brett Baker MD is a graduate of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Medical School, where he earned the honor of membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his Urology residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and during that time Dr. Baker spent an extensive amount of time training at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Baker has special interests in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate and kidney cancer, laparoscopy and minimally-invasive surgery for the treatment of BPH and other urologic conditions, no-scalpel vasectomy, and kidney stone treatment (lithotripsy). He is fluent in Spanish and enjoys utilizing this in his practice.
Dr. Baker is a member of the St. David’s Medical Center General Surgery Medical Care Evaluation/Peer Review Subcommittee. In addition, he was honored with the Distinguished Surgeon Award in 2013. This annual award is presented by the Austin Area Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses. Dr. Baker has also been chosen as a Top Doctor for Urology by Austin Monthly. Dr. Baker is an Austin native who lives here with his wife and two children.
