April 2020 Urology Austin is pleased to announce that Dr. Carl Bischoff has achieved the UroLift Center of Excellence (COE) designation! UroLift is a minimally invasive treatment option for men with Benign Prostastic Hyperplasia (enlarged prostate). To receive this designation, Dr. Bischoff was required to perform a specified number of UroLift procedures each month, be clinically proctored on the safe and effective use of UroLift to provide clinical excellence, and participate in a minimum of two NeoTract Center of Excellence continuing education events per year.

April 2020 Urology Austin is pleased to announce that Dr. Carl Bischoff has achieved the UroLift Center of Excellence (COE) designation! UroLift is a minimally invasive treatment option for men with Benign Prostastic Hyperplasia (enlarged prostate). To receive this designation, Dr. Bischoff was required to perform a specified number of UroLift procedures each month, be clinically proctored on the safe and effective use of UroLift to provide clinical excellence, and participate in a minimum of two NeoTract Center of Excellence continuing education events per year. He has also demonstrated UroLift Clinical Excellence by collecting and reviewing patient outcome data, exhibited clinical excellence skill levels, and helped patients achieve positive outcomes. We congratulate Dr. Bischoff on his achievement!
Dr. Carl Bischoff is a board certified urologist with Urology Austin.
Dr. Carl Bischoff is a graduate of Louisiana State University Medical School in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Bischoff completed his Urology residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, and his Urologic Oncology Fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Bischoff practices general urology with a focus on urologic oncology. He has a special interest in robotic and laparoscopic surgery for the treatment of urologic cancers as well as reconstructive surgery. In April 2019, Dr. Bischoff and was trained on the daVinci SP (Single Port) Surgical System – a state-of-the-art robotic system that reduces surgical access to one incision, while allowing 360 degree maneuverability and an expanded range of surgical instruments. Dr. Bischoff was honored with being one of the first 15 surgeons in the world to be trained on the SP robot. He is a Proctor for Intuitive Surgical, the manufacturer of the daVinci SP robot, and lectures physician colleagues on robotic and Single Port technology.
With his training, Dr. Bischoff will have the ability to utilize the SP robotic system to perform surgeries for BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia), prostatectomies, cystectomies, nephrectomies, robotic pyeloplasty, and other urologic reconstructive surgeries on the bladder, kidneys and ureters. Carl Bischoff serves as the Chief of robotic surgery at Arise Austin Medical Center.
He enjoys living in Austin with his wife, Emily, and their four children, Emma Claire, Annaliese, Madeline, and Wyatt.
Dr. Bischoff has been recognized as a “Top Doctor” under the category of Urology from January 2014 through January 2024 in the Austin Monthly Magazine.
