Dr. Gleason grew up in Minneapolis, MN, and graduated magma cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a B.S. in Biochemistry before returning to medical school at The University of Minnesota. He completed his urology residency at Kaiser Foundation Hospitals in Los Angeles, then extended his training in pediatric urology in Toronto at the highly acclaimed Hospital for Sick Children, which was known as a top Hospital for pediatric urological oncology and reconstructive surgery.

Growing up, Dr. Gleason’s mom was an ICU nurse, and his dad was in medical device industry, so he was exposed to the medical field at a young age. As he went through school, he found that he excelled in the sciences. During high school biology class, he heard from a guest speaker who was an ER Doctor at the local trauma Hospital. He was intrigued and went on to shadow in the ER. After that, he always knew he would go on to medical school.  It was during his third year of medical school he was introduced to pediatric urology – from that point forward he knew that would be his specialty.

Dr. Gleason has practiced urology in Memphis since 2014. He served as the Chief of Pediatric Urology at St. Jude Hospital for over seven years. There he was known for seeing complex reconstructive cases, caring for kids with urological cancers.

He has also worked at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. He started the robotics surgery program at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in 2015 and was the Medical Director of Robotic Surgery from 2015 – 2021. He still cares for patients there today.

Today, Dr. Gleason treats general adult urology, and all facets of pediatric urology including neurogenic bladder and bowel, reconstructive procedures, hypospadias, hydronephrosis, undescended testicles, hernias and minimally invasive/robotic surgery. He is sought after for his expertise in complex pediatric urology.  Dr. Gleason can fit pediatric patients in quickly, which many people find beneficial especially because there is often long waits for highly specialized care.

Dr. Gleason grew up in Wayzata, Minnesota and married his high school sweetheart.  They have two young boys and enjoy living in the Memphis area. They have also relocated much of their extended family to the area, as well.  When Dr. Gleason is not working, you might find him riding his tractor at his farm just outside of the Memphis area. He likes to maintain the land, raise cattle and crops.  With his family, they enjoy camping with their dog – from Coastal Florida to Kentucky and Arkansas.
