Dr. Luz Peredo-Muniz, PT, DPT, ATC, is a pelvic floor physical therapist at Urology Austin. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Xavier University and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Indiana University. Dr. Peredo-Muniz has worked as a pelvic floor therapist since graduation and enjoys collaborating with Urology Austin’s medical team. She is passionate about using movement, breath work, and lifestyle modification to help patients understand their bodies and improve pelvic health.

Dr. Luz Peredo-Muniz, PT, DPT, ATC is an experienced and caring pelvic floor physical therapist at Urology Austin. She attended Xavier University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. Then, she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Indiana University. She knew, at the time she started Physical Therapy (PT) school, that she wanted to become a pelvic floor physical therapist. She knew, at the time she started Physical Therapy (PT) school, that she wanted to become a pelvic floor physical therapist. Therefore, she has been working as a pelvic floor PT since she graduated. She worked in a hospital-based outpatient clinic prior to joining Urology Austin. Now that she is at Urology Austin, she enjoys working closely in a team with the medical staff and Urologists. Her special interests include helping people with conditions that cause persistent pelvic pain, and working with athletes and active individuals to help them get back to their sport or physical activity.

Dr. Peredo-Muniz, PT, DPT enjoys working as a therapist because it uses movement as medicine. She likes all the ways that the musculoskeletal system, breath work, hands-on techniques, exercise & lifestyle modification can be used to optimize outcomes related to each individual’s goals. After she learned about pelvic health, she knew that she had the demeanor, comfort level, and compassion needed to be able to appropriately address bowel, bladder, and sexual function issues with patients. She enjoys being able to teach people about their bodies and helping them learn about the many tools available to manage or minimize their symptoms. Through that, she strives to empower her patients to learn about their body and become familiar with holistic ways to address their pelvic floor dysfunction.

When she’s not working, Dr. Peredo-Muniz, PT, DPT, likes being a foodie –  trying new restaurants and learning new recipes. She also likes hanging out with her Basset Hound, or planning her next SCUBA diving trip.
