June 2020 – Urology Austin is pleased to announce that Dr. Michael McClelland has been designated as a Center of Excellence for Rezūm™ Water Vapor Therapy by Boston Scientific. The Center of Excellence (COE) designation recognizes Dr. McClelland’s high degree of experience with Rezūm Water Vapor Therapy and commitment to delivering significant, lasting symptom relief to men suffering from Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (enlarged prostate). As of June 2020, there are only 20 COE providers in the country with five being in Texas. Of the Texas providers, Dr. McClelland is the first in the greater Austin area to be awarded this designation. Congratulations Dr. McClelland for a job well done!
Michael McClelland, MD is a graduate of the University of Texas Medical School at Galveston. After receiving his medical degree, he completed his residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
Dr. McClelland treats patients in all aspects of general urology, but has special interests in Urologic Oncology including prostate cancer, bladder cancer, and kidney cancer. He also specializes in Peyronie’s disease (penile curvature), kidney stones, minimally invasive therapies for the treatment of Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH) or enlarged prostate, laparoscopic surgery, and performing vasectomies. Along with his practice, Dr. McClelland served as Chief of Urology for Seton Medical Centers, and is involved with other medical related boards in Central Texas.
