August 2020 Urology Austin is pleased to announce that Dr. Rob Dickinson has achieved the UroLift Center of Excellence (COE) designation! UroLift is a minimally invasive treatment option for men with Benign Prostastic Hyperplasia (enlarged prostate). To receive this designation, Dr. Dickinson was required to perform a specified number of UroLift procedures each month, be clinically proctored on the safe and effective use of UroLift to provide clinical excellence, and participate in a minimum of two NeoTract Center of Excellence continuing education events per year. He has also demonstrated UroLift Clinical Excellence by collecting and reviewing patient outcome data, exhibited clinical excellence skill levels, and helped patients achieve positive outcomes. Robert Dickinson, MD is a graduate of The University of Texas Medical Branch Medical School in Galveston, where he was honored as both a member of the Dean’s List and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Dickinson completed his surgical internship and urology residency at The University of New Mexico and a National Urology Resident Preceptorship in Laparoscopic Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Dickinson treats both male and female patients, and has special interests in therapy for enlarged prostates (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia), prostate cancer, treatments for overactive bladder, urinary incontinence in men and women, kidney stone prevention and treatment, as well as laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery for kidney cancer.
Dr. Dickinson is now offering Aquablation for men with BPH. This FDA approved procedure uses unheated, sterile saline to precisely remove prostate tissue overgrowth. In January 2024, Dr. Dickinson was recognized as a Top Doctor in Urology by Austin Monthly Magazine
