Skylar grew up in Thunder Bay in Ontario, Canada. She studied nursing at Lakehead University and then went on to get a Master of Nursing at Queens University in Kingston to become a Nurse Practitioner.  She grew up in a family of nurses and was led to nursing from her passion to help others. After nursing school, she felt she could do more for patients by progressing to a Nurse Practitioner and expanding her skills to do more to help her patients.

She worked at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center as an NP prior to moving to the States and joining Urology Austin. She cared for post-op surgical patients and was honored to pilot a remote patient care program which grew her passion for working with urology patients. At Urology Austin she loves the positive work culture, great learning environment, pleasant staff and helpful team.

Skylar loves meeting new people and her favorite thing about being a nurse practitioner is working with patients and their families to help them reach their health goals.  Skylar works with Dr Sundaram. Her areas of interest are BPH management, kidney stones, erectile dysfunction, and general urology.

New to Austin, Skylar is enjoying the food scene and loves trying new restaurants.  She enjoys hiking and being outdoors. She also plays ice hockey, and loves to adventure with her partner and dog Charley, a rat terrier mix.
