Dr. Val Vogt has practiced urogynecology in Memphis for over 20 years and she holds the unique honor of being the only female, fellowship-trained urogynecologist in the Memphis area. She has been selected by her peers as a Best Doctor in America, every year for twenty years.

Dr. Vogt grew up in St Louis, MO.  She attended medical school at Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois and completed her internship at University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. She began specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology during Residency Training at Rush Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago. Following her specialized residency training program she completed a three-year fellowship at Indiana University/ Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was the first to graduate from the newly accredited program in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.

From there, Dr. Vogt moved to Memphis and held the position of Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, where she started a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine.  She has also been an Associate Clinical Professor at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.

She has held national positions within the ACS – American College of Surgeons, ABOG American Boards of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and AUGS American Urogynecologic Society.

Dr. Vogt is passionate about helping women, because more than half of all women will be affected by incontinence or prolapse in their lifetime. She specializes in treating both overactive bladder and stress urinary incontinence, as well as pelvic prolapse. She likes to give her patients all the options for both non-surgical and surgical treatments.

She offers conservative therapies first and is well versed in the latest minimally invasive treatment options. Dr Vogt offers bladder Botox, bulking agents, sacral neuromodulation for urinary and fecal incontinence, as well as vaginal and robotic surgery.

“I give my patients all options – let them decide what is best solution for them. I like working with women and I get to see the big improvement in their quality of life and the impact that it makes on their day-to-day activities.”

Dr. Vogt has been married for over 30 years and has two children. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She likes slalom waterskiing and walking the St. Jude marathon.

• For more than 20 years Dr. Vogt has had the honor of being selected by her peers in Best Doctors in America.
• Dr. Vogt has been distinguished with the National Library of Medicine Local Legends Award. The Local Legends program is a partnership between the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) and the National Library of Medicine (NLM), asks U.S. senators and members of Congress to nominate outstanding women physicians from their state or district for this unique honor.
• Dr. Vogt has held national leadership positions with the American College of Surgeons, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Urogynecologic Society.
• She has been a board examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• She has performed clinical research and published numerous journal articles and book chapters in Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery.
• Dr Vogt was honored to be one of four surgeons who were invited to present at the first Urogynecology meeting in China (Beijing 2005) At that conference, she performed the first abdominal sacrocolpopexy in China
